Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation Museum

A small but unusually well-curated museum in a restored old town mansion, dedicated to the textiles, costumes, jewellery and household objects of the Peloponnese over the last two centuries. The collection was put together by Ioanna Papantoniou, a costume designer who quietly assembled one of the best ethnographic archives in Greece.

The exhibits are mounted with the eye of a designer — fabric, embroidery, lace and silverwork displayed for their craft as well as their context. The shop in the lobby sells reproductions, books and well-chosen souvenirs. Closed on Tuesdays.
