The Trianon Mosque, locally called the Old Mosque (Palaio Tzami), sits on Staïkopoulou Street, a few minutes walk from Syntagma Square. Built during the second Ottoman occupation of Nafplio in the late seventeenth century, it later served as a school, a courthouse, a cinema, and today as a cultural events space.
The minaret has long since been removed. From the outside it looks like a plain rectangular block with three small domes; inside, the painted wooden ceiling and the carved mihrab survive. Opening hours are erratic — check the posted programme for concerts or exhibitions which are the easiest way in.
