The main port and largest village, set on a deep narrow inlet that doubles as a natural harbour. Two small wooded islets — Agios Nikolaos and Panagia — sit at the harbour mouth, almost closing it off and protecting the quayside from open-sea weather.
The waterfront is one elegant Venetian curve, lined with ochre, pink, and yellow facades and tavernas with tables out under the awnings. Day-trippers from Corfu and Parga walk this stretch by midday, but the place returns to itself by the evening ferry's departure. Walk inland to the back streets for the older Venetian houses, the small museum, and the church of Agios Apostoloi.
