The Dunapark kávéház is the grande dame of Újlipótváros cafes, occupying the ground floor of a landmark 1936 Bauhaus building on the corner of Szent István Park. Carefully restored, it keeps the streamlined interwar elegance — curved wood, brass, soft lighting — that makes it feel like a stage set for old Budapest.
It does proper coffee, a serious cake counter, and a full bistro menu, and the terrace overlooking the park is the place to sit on a warm afternoon. Prices are a notch above the neighbourhood norm, but you are paying for one of the loveliest rooms in the district.
