☰Szimpla Kert

The original and most famous ruin bar in Budapest. Szimpla Kert occupies a sprawling former apartment building in the Jewish Quarter, with rooms spread over multiple floors, each decorated in a different style of creative chaos: bathtubs for seating, a car cut in half, plants growing out of old TVs. It is always packed, especially on weekends, and has become firmly part of the tourist trail. Go early in the evening if you want to actually find a seat. On Sundays there is a popular farmers market here during the day.
