Saint Nikolaus Orthodox Church was built by Serbian and Greek families who settled in Eger after fleeing Ottoman rule. Its late Baroque and Rococo interior makes it one of the city's more distinctive churches, with a different feel from Eger's Catholic monuments.
The iconostasis is the main reason to step inside. It is richly carved and painted, and gives a useful glimpse of the Orthodox communities that were once part of the town's religious mix.
