The Museo Morandi holds the largest public collection of work by Giorgio Morandi, Bologna's most celebrated modern artist, known for his quiet, contemplative still lifes of bottles, vases, and boxes. The collection moved from Palazzo d'Accursio to a dedicated space inside MAMbo (Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna) and includes paintings, watercolours, drawings, and etchings spanning his entire career. A separate room reconstructs part of his studio. Even if still life painting doesn't sound like your thing, the subtle shifts in colour and composition across dozens of works are surprisingly absorbing.
