Piazza Cavour

The main square of medieval and Renaissance Rimini, framed by the brick Palazzo dell'Arengo, the Palazzo del Podestà, the old fish market (Pescheria), and the rebuilt Galli theatre. The Fontana della Pigna at its centre is a sixteenth-century pinecone fountain that Leonardo da Vinci is said to have admired during his time in the city.

The piazza hosts the Wednesday and Friday markets and serves as the natural living room of the old town — particularly inviting in the evening, when the cafés set out tables and the theatre's lights catch the brick.
