Things to Do

The historic centre rewards a half-day walk. The Arch of Augustus (27 BC) at the southern entrance to the old city is one of the best-preserved Roman triumphal arches in Italy. The Tempio Malatestiano, a 15th-century church wrapped in a Renaissance marble shell designed by Leon Battista Alberti, is the finest building in Rimini and contains works by Piero della Francesca. The Bridge of Tiberius (21 AD) still carries pedestrians and cyclists across the Marecchia. The Museo della Città on Via Tonini covers 2,000 years of local history. The Federico Fellini Museum, opened in 2021, celebrates the city's most famous son with archives, costumes, and film memorabilia. Beyond the old town, the 15 km of fine sandy beach is the main summer attraction, and the Italia in Miniatura theme park on the outskirts is an enjoyable family stop.
