Spiaggia del Principe — "the Prince's Beach" — takes its name from the Aga Khan IV, who is said to have considered it his favourite stretch of the coast he developed. It is a curved bay of pale pink-tinged sand backed by granite outcrops and macchia, with shallow turquoise water and almost no built infrastructure beyond a single small kiosk. There are no hotels in sight from the beach, which is part of its appeal.
Access is by foot from a small car park about ten minutes' walk away through the macchia. The path is sandy but flat and the walk is part of the experience. Bring everything you need — there is no umbrella rental and no large restaurant — and come early in August, when the car park fills before nine.
