Monastero di Santo Spirito is a former Cistercian convent in Agrigento's old town, founded in the 13th or 14th century. Its plain exterior gives way to a richly decorated Baroque interior, with stucco work and a cloister that reward a slow look.
The monastery is also known for traditional almond pastries still associated with the nuns, making it a small but distinctive stop above the Valley of the Temples.
