Getting There

Trapani Birgi Airport (TPS) has direct flights from several European cities, particularly from the UK (Ryanair) and Germany. It is 15 km from the city centre, connected by a regular bus service timed to flight arrivals. Palermo airport is about 100 km away and has more connections; buses run between Palermo and Trapani (about 2 hours).

By train, Trapani is at the end of the line from Palermo (about 2 hours on the direct service). The station is at the eastern edge of the old town. By car, the A29 motorway from Palermo reaches the junction at Alcamo, from where the SS113 continues to Trapani.

Ferries and hydrofoils to the Egadi Islands and to Pantelleria depart from the port at the eastern end of the harbour. Summer services are frequent; winter services reduced. Occasional car ferries also run to Cagliari in Sardinia.
