Getting Around

Trento's old town is compact, pedestrianised, and best covered on foot — almost everything in the centre is within ten minutes' walk of the Piazza Duomo. The MUSE and the Le Albere district are a 15-minute walk south of the cathedral; the Castello del Buonconsiglio is five minutes north.

For trips up Monte Bondone or out to the suburbs, the local Trentino Trasporti buses run frequently and a Trentino Guest Card (available from any hotel) gives free travel and museum entry. The funivia (cable car) to Sardagna runs every 15–30 minutes from the riverbank just north of the railway station, and bikes can be hired through the city's e-bike sharing system.
