The pleasures of Peschiera are mostly in walking the walls and watching the lake. The Venetian fortifications around the old town are the centrepiece, and a slow circuit of the ramparts is the best introduction to the town. From the lakefront, you can also catch the Lake Garda ferry to almost anywhere on the lake, making Peschiera one of the easiest bases for exploring the southern shore.
