Christ the King Cathedral Cemetery opened in 1914 on land first intended for a cathedral. The First World War quickly filled many of its plots, and it remains a quiet, leafy place to read the city's history through graves and memorials.
One notable monument remembers Jurgis Tilvytis, a poet, scholar, and cathedral rector who died here in 1931 while giving a funeral sermon.
