Larochette is a small town in Luxembourg's Mullerthal region, folded into the valley of the White Ernz with castle ruins on the sandstone ridge above it. It is smaller and quieter than Echternach, but the setting is stronger than many places twice its size.
The headline is Larochette Castle, a ruined medieval complex whose restored Créhange House rises over the village roofs. Below it, Place Bleech and the old streets keep traces of the town's textile past. Trails leave almost directly from town: Mullerthal Trail ExtraTour A links Larochette with Nommern and Medernach, while the local L3 route climbs to viewpoints and toward Meysembourg Castle.
Larochette is W66-worthy as a compact castle-and-walking base, not as a long stay. Give it a clear half-day, or a full day if you want to hike beyond the castle.
