European Court of Justice

The court that interprets EU law sits in a complex of golden-coloured glass towers on the Kirchberg plateau. The Dominique Perrault extension from 2008 gave the court its distinctive silhouette — two 100-metre towers reflecting the surrounding office blocks.

You can't simply wander in, but the court runs free public hearings most working days; check the agenda online a week in advance, bring ID, and arrive 30 minutes early. The acoustics in the main courtroom are remarkable and English interpretation is provided.
