Luxembourg City is served by Luxembourg Airport (LUX) at Findel, 6 km east of the centre. Bus 16 runs frequently to the city centre and train station; a taxi costs around €30. The national carrier Luxair operates mainly European routes, and several low-cost carriers fly in from UK and continental destinations.
By train, Luxembourg has direct connections to Paris (2h10 via TGV), Brussels (3h), Trier, Metz, and Koblenz. The train station is a 15-minute walk from the old town. All public transport in Luxembourg — trains, city buses, and regional coaches — is free of charge.
