Luxembourg City has a restaurant scene that punches well above its size. The expat population — over 70% of residents are non-Luxembourgish — has generated a wide spread of cuisines, from Portuguese and Italian to Japanese and Thai. Prices are high by European standards, but lunch is the exception: most restaurants offer a plat du jour for under €15, which is how locals eat during the week. The Grund and the streets around Place d'Armes have the highest concentration of places.
