The City Art Museum sits in a handsome 19th-century villa on a private park, with a modern glass extension that doubled the gallery space in 2010. The collection is built around three private bequests of Dutch and Flemish 17th-century painting and 19th-century French academic work — modest but well presented.
Set in the Vauban park, which is a public garden built on the remains of one of the city's old bastions. Closed Tuesdays. The café terrace is one of the more peaceful lunch spots in the city centre.
