Trg Sv. Tripuna (Cathedral Square)

The cathedral square, more properly Trg Svetog Tripuna, is the most dignified of Kotor's piazzas — a long rectangle paved in pale marble, with the twin towers of the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon closing the far end. The smaller scale and slight asymmetry give it more character than the busier Trg od Oružja.

The square is the focus of the Festivity of Saint Tryphon every February, when the relics of the saint are carried out of the cathedral and paraded through the old town to the music of the Bokeljska Mornarica, the historic Boka Navy guard. The rest of the year it is a quiet place to sit with a coffee and look at the Romanesque facade across the way.
