The 17th-century Clock Tower stands at the southern end of Trg od Oružja, the first thing many visitors see after passing through the Sea Gate. The square plan, the pyramidal stone roof, and the small balcony above the clock face are characteristic of Venetian provincial public architecture — comparable structures stand on Trogir and Korčula.
The tower was knocked askew by the 1979 Montenegro earthquake and now leans slightly off true, which the locals point out with a kind of affection. The medieval pillory stands in front of it, no longer in use but preserved for the photo opportunity.
