Dobrota

Dobrota is the long strip of waterfront village that runs north from Kotor along the bay — once the home of the captains and merchants who made the Boka one of the richest sailing communities in the Adriatic. The 18th and 19th-century stone houses, many with their own small private chapels, line the road for almost five kilometres.

The seaside promenade is the great Dobrota walk: flat, shaded, and almost entirely free of the cruise-day crowds that flood the old town. Two impressive baroque churches — the Church of St Eustache and the Church of St Matthew — both hold a few notable paintings if you can find the keys (ask at the parish office). End at one of the konobas along the water for grilled fish.
