An 8-kilometre circular walking route along the dyke that encircles Marken, starting and ending at the marina. The path passes through the different buurt (neighbourhood clusters), each built on mounds above the old flood plain, and offers open views across the IJmeer toward Amsterdam and Volendam. Comfortable shoes are recommended; sections of the path can be wet. The circuit takes about two hours at an easy pace.
