Six former fishermen's cottages converted into a local history museum, one of which is preserved as a complete fisherman's household from the early 1930s with original furnishings and fittings. The remaining cottages hold rotating exhibits on Marken's history, fishing culture, traditional costume, and the long struggle with water. Open daily April to October; a small entrance fee applies. The address is Kerkbuurt 44–47.

Six fishermen's cottages turned museum, one preserved as a 1930s home
A story
One of the six cottages is preserved exactly as it was in the early 1930s, right down to the sleeping alcoves built into the walls — the traditional Marken solution to cramped living quarters where a box-bed wasted less floor space than a free-standing one.
