Forum Przestrzenie

Riverside bar and cultural venue in the brutalist Hotel Forum building from 1989

The Forum Przestrzenie bar occupies the brutalist bulk of the Hotel Forum, a 1988 communist-era tower on the Vistula riverbank opposite Wawel Castle that sat derelict for many years and has now been partially repurposed into a bar, cultural space, and creative hub. The rooftop terrace is the point: on summer evenings, it offers one of the best views in Krakow — Wawel Castle directly across the river, the Old Town stretched out on one side and Kazimierz on the other, with the Vistula below.

The bar is relaxed and unpretentious, popular with Krakow's young creative class. The drinks are standard but priced fairly, and the crowds that gather on warm summer evenings give the terrace a festive atmosphere that the Soviet-era concrete only makes more enjoyable by contrast. The brutalist interior spaces host exhibitions, concerts, and club nights. It is worth knowing about as a counterpoint to the medieval ambiance of the Old Town — a Krakow that is forward-looking rather than historical.
