The Church of St. John of Jerusalem outside the walls is one of Poznan's oldest surviving religious sites. Built around 1188 for the Knights Hospitaller, it is often described as the first brick building on Polish territory.
The church is small and still active, so access is usually limited to the time around services. Even from outside, it is worth a stop for the age of the brickwork and its link to the medieval hospital that once stood nearby.
