The Hunedoara County Prefecture (Palatul Administrativ) is the imposing eclectic-style government building that anchors the north side of Piața Unirii. Built between 1888 and 1890 in a confident Neo-Renaissance manner, it remains the seat of the county council. The exterior — symmetrical wings, a central pediment, and a slim tower above the entrance — sets the architectural tone for the surrounding streets.
