Piața Victoriei is Deva's main pedestrianised square, a long open space lined with cafes, eclectic late nineteenth-century facades, and a few sober inter-war blocks. The square is bookended by the Orthodox cathedral and the older centre of town, and is the natural meeting point of an evening. Buskers, ice-cream stalls, and small markets appear in summer; in December it hosts the town's Christmas market.
