Simeria Arboretum

250-year-old arboretum with rare species from three continents

About 10 km east of Deva on the banks of the Mureș, the Simeria Arboretum is one of the oldest and largest in Romania — over 70 hectares of parkland that has been cultivated for more than 250 years. The collection includes rare species from China, Japan, and North America alongside local varieties, and the mature trees give the place a genuinely impressive scale. It is a good spot for a quiet afternoon walk, especially in spring and early autumn.
