Housed inside Bethlen Castle (Magna Curia), the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilisation is one of the most important regional museums for the pre-Roman and Roman history of Transylvania. The Dacian galleries hold finds from the nearby fortresses of Sarmizegetusa and other UNESCO-listed sites in the Orăștie Mountains; the Roman rooms display material from Micia and Apulum.
There are also natural history and ethnographic sections of mixed quality. Two hours is enough for the highlights. Labels are mostly in Romanian, with limited English.
