Minorite Church and Monastery

Baroque Franciscan church and monastery near the Polish Gate

The Baroque church of the Holy Spirit and its attached Minorite monastery sit just inside the town walls near the Polish Gate, originally founded by Franciscans in the 14th century and rebuilt in its current form in the early 18th century. The Baroque interior is in surprisingly good condition, with a tall main altar and side chapels that reward a quiet half-hour. Outside of mass it is one of the calmest corners of the old town.
