The town hall stands free in the centre of Námestie Majstra Pavla, an arcaded Renaissance building from the 16th century with a slim clock tower on top. The original burned down in the 16th century and the present version was rebuilt in 1551 with the help of stonemasons from Lombardy, which explains its very Italianate look.
Inside is a branch of the Spiš Museum: rooms set up to show 16th–17th century burgher life, plus permanent exhibits on the town's history and the Levoča guilds. Climb the tower for a view over the square and the red-tiled roofs of the old town stretching down to the walls.
