Golte is the main ski resort serving the Šalek and Savinja valleys, perched high above Mozirje at around 1400 metres. It is a mid-sized resort by alpine standards but benefits from reliable snow cover and spectacular views over the surrounding peaks and valleys.
In winter, Golte offers around 20 km of ski runs across all difficulty levels, plus cross-country trails and snowshoeing. The resort is popular with families from the nearby industrial towns of Velenje and Celje. In summer, the gondola still runs and the mountain becomes a hiking and mountain biking destination, with trails leading across the plateau and over to the Snow Cave above the Logar Valley. A summer tourism offer — zip-lining and a summer toboggan run — caters to the day visitor crowd.
