Rinka Waterfall

The Rinka is the tallest waterfall in Slovenia, dropping around 90 metres in a single free-falling plunge from the rock wall at the head of the Logar Valley. The view of the cascade against the steep alpine backdrop is one of the signature images of this part of Slovenia, and reaching it is one of the most rewarding walks in the region.

The trail begins at the far end of Logarska Dolina and takes around 45 minutes each way from the valley car park. The path is well-marked and not technically demanding, though it becomes steeper near the falls. At high water — typically May and June — the spray throws rainbows across the rocks below. There is a small mountain hut (Koča pri Rinki) near the falls offering refreshments in summer.
