The highest peak in the Sierra de Grazalema at 1,654 metres. The trail starts from the CA-9104 between Grazalema and Benamahoma — small parking pull-off, signed gate. A steady climb of two and a half hours through pinsapo fir forest and then bare limestone karst, with the summit cairn looking out over the bay of Cadiz and (on clear days) the Rif mountains of Morocco.
The hike is permit-only and limited to a small daily quota. Closed during the vulture nesting season. The descent route is the same as the ascent. Carry water, sun protection, and warm clothes — the summit can be cold any month of the year.
