Marbella is served by Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport, about 60 kilometres east, the main international gateway for the Costa del Sol. The airport has direct connections to most European cities; the journey from the airport takes around 45 minutes to an hour by taxi or private transfer. There is no rail connection to Marbella — the nearest train station is in Málaga.
By road from Málaga take the A-7 coast road (the old N-340, slower but more scenic) or the AP-7 toll motorway (faster). From Algeciras and the ferry port to Morocco, Marbella is about 90 kilometres along the A-7. From Gibraltar, around 65 kilometres. Intercity buses (Avanza and Alsa) connect Marbella with Málaga, Algeciras, and Seville.
