One of the better-established fish restaurants at La Caleta de Vélez, the fishing harbour just east of Torre del Mar. The menu changes daily depending on what the boats bring in, but the constants are fritura malagueña (mixed fried fish in a light batter), grilled dorada (gilthead bream), and boquerones al limón — fresh anchovies marinated in lemon juice and olive oil, the Málaga preparation that differs from the vinegar-marinated northern version. Sit on the harbourside terrace and watch the fishing boats rather than on the tourist strip of the Paseo Marítimo. Menú del día available at lunch for around €12.
