Torre del Mar is primarily a beach resort, and most activity revolves around the seafront. The Paseo Marítimo and the fishing port at La Caleta de Vélez are the main draws on the water; the historic town of Vélez-Málaga a few kilometres inland provides a contrast to the beach scene.
