La Farola (the lighthouse) at the western end of the Paseo Marítimo is quieter than the central strip, and the café here — named for the lighthouse itself — is the best place on the seafront for a morning coffee. Café con leche, tostada con tomate y aceite (toasted bread rubbed with tomato and drizzled with olive oil), and a pastry: the standard Andalucían breakfast done properly. The terrace faces east along the beach, which is ideal in the morning when the light is good and the beach walkers are out. Less busy than the central beach bars at all hours.
