Biblioteca Municipal de Bidebarrieta

Biblioteca Municipal de Bidebarrieta is one of the handsome late-19th-century buildings in Bilbao's old quarter. It was designed by Severino de Achucarro as a social hall for El Sitio society and now serves as a municipal library and archive.

You do not need long here, but the facade and interiors reward a look while walking through Casco Viejo. It is a good reminder that Bilbao's architectural story is not only the Guggenheim and the riverfront.
