The Cabrera Pinto Institute Museum is housed in the former Augustinian convent that became the oldest university building in the Canary Islands. Its patios, classrooms and assembly rooms give a good sense of La Laguna's learned, colonial-era character.
The displays are strongest when they connect the building to the island's education and scientific history. It is a good secondary stop after the cathedral and the main historic streets, especially if you like old academic buildings.
