The Borås Art Museum (Borås Konstmuseum) holds the city's collection of modern and contemporary Swedish and international art, with particularly strong holdings in Nordic painting from the early 20th century and a growing collection of sculpture and installation work. It occupies a clean modernist building in Kulturhuset, just south of the central square.
The museum is the curatorial centre of the Borås International Sculpture Biennial, the city's main contemporary art event since 2008, which is also responsible for the public sculptures scattered around the streets. Free entry; allow an hour and a half. The temporary exhibitions are usually the most interesting part of a visit — the permanent collection is rotated through the upper floor.
