Since 2014 Borås has hosted an annual street-art festival called No Limit, which has left the city with one of the strongest collections of large-format murals in Scandinavia. Works are scattered across the central streets and along the river — most within a 15-minute walk of Stora Torget — by artists including Shepard Fairey, Pichi & Avo, Etam Cru, Vhils, and Yash. New pieces are added most years.
The tourist office hands out a free map of the murals and a self-guided walking route. Allow an hour to ninety minutes for the central walk; the route adds enjoyable detours through quieter back streets you wouldn't otherwise see. A surprising number of the pieces engage directly with the city's textile heritage — a thread that runs through almost everything in Borås.
