Sheptytsky Square

A second, smaller square just west of the Rynok, named after Andrey Sheptytsky — the long-serving Greek Catholic archbishop of Lviv who began his church career here as a young priest. The square is dominated by the looming red-brick Collegiate Church, now the regional art museum, and is one of the most photogenic spots in town when the trees are out.

In summer the square hosts open-air readings, small classical concerts and (occasional) protests. It links the cathedral end of the old town with the Rynok in two minutes' walk.
