Bewl Water is a large reservoir south of Tunbridge Wells, used for walking, cycling, sailing, windsurfing, and fishing. The full circuit is a long outing, but shorter walks give you open water, wooded edges, and a very different feel from the spa-town streets.
The main visitor entrance is the simplest way in if you want facilities or watersports. Public rights of way also reach the reservoir, including a route across the dam, which makes it possible to visit without treating it as a formal attraction.
