The Forum is a small independent music venue housed in a former 1930s public toilet block on the Common — a fact celebrated in its NME-award-winning reputation as "Britain's smallest live music venue." Standing capacity is just 250, but the line-up has included Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Foals, Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard and Frank Turner, most before they hit the big time.
The atmosphere is intense and intimate by design; there are no bad sight-lines. Run by volunteers since 1993, it is one of the most-loved small venues in the south-east. Check the schedule before visiting — it is closed when there is no gig.
