Loch Lubnaig

Loch Lubnaig stretches north from the Pass of Leny for about five kilometres, pinched between steep hillsides in a shape that gives it its name — "the crooked loch" in Gaelic. The A84 runs along its eastern shore, but the far quieter path on the western side (accessible from the Falls of Leny car park) gives a better experience: birch and alder woodland fringing pebbly beaches, and the water cold and clear enough to see the bottom. Brown trout and Arctic char live in the loch; otter are occasionally spotted at dawn and dusk.

The loch is also an access point for several hill walks into the Strathyre Forest and the slopes of Beinn Each. National Cycle Route 7 skirts the eastern shore.
