Callander's surroundings are almost entirely outdoors. The town itself has a handful of worthwhile stops — the Rob Roy visitor centre, the old parish church, Bracklinn Falls on the edge of town — but the real draws are the lochs, glens, and mountains within easy reach on foot or by bike. The national cycle network runs through, long-distance walking routes pass by, and on a clear day Ben Ledi looms over everything as a target worth the effort.
