The Raeburn occupies a handsome Victorian building on Raeburn Place, Stockbridge's main commercial street. The bar and restaurant has the feel of a well-run neighbourhood institution: interesting wine and beer list, food that takes Scottish ingredients seriously without being precious about it, a room that works for both a weekday lunch and a Saturday evening dinner. The terrace at the front is a good spot on summer evenings. It is the kind of place that a neighbourhood is lucky to have — consistently good, reliably open, and genuinely part of the local fabric.
